The Woodsfield Police Department provides 24-hour coverage to the municipality of Woodsfield, utilizing five Full-time Law Enforcement Officers and one Call-in Officer. All officers receive continuous education and training, some in very specific fields of criminal investigation and law enforcement protection. The department also has a K-9 Officer, Tito, who is trained in drug detection and tracking.
The primary duties and responsibilities of all officers within the Village of Woodsfield are the protection of life and property of the people they serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to ensure a high quality of life in the village. Officers investigate criminal complaints and enforce State laws, as well as Village ordinances. They are here to serve the citizens, visitors and those that work within the village of Woodsfield.
